Magdeleine Vallieres shows off her world championship stripes

Our partners pulled out all the stops for Mags so she can debut her rainbow kit and bike at the Giro dell’Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite

October 4, 2025

One week on from her world championship win in Rwanda, Magdeleine Vallieres is ready to stun the peloton again.

On Saturday, Mags will debut her brand-new world champion’s jersey and Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO at the Giro dell’Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite in Italy. POC made her matching Cytal Carbon and Procen Air helmets with rainbow bands and Wahoo customized her ELEMNT BOLT 3 to celebrate her world championship win.

When Mags pulled on her rainbow jersey for the first time and rolled out on her new Cannondale, the magnitude of her victory struck her. The past week seemed like a dream for the 24-year-old Canadian from Sherbrooke, Québec. Just a week ago, she outsmarted and outpowered the best bike racers in the world in Kigali on one of the hardest circuits in world championship history and won the right to wear cycling’s iconic rainbow bands. Mags is the first Canadian to ever win a road world championship. She hopes she can inspire young bike racers at home and around the world this year and encourage them to follow their dreams. As world champion, she will get to wear the rainbow jersey until she defends her title next year at home in Montréal.

“I am super excited to race my bike again,” Mags said. “It will be my first time racing in the stripes, and then with the new bike, new helmet, and new Wahoo it is going to be super. Whatever happens in the race, it is going to be special, but we are going to try to make it even more special.”

As soon as Mags crossed the finish line last Saturday in Kigali, Cannondale, Wahoo, POC, and Rapha set to work to design our new world champion her rainbow clothing, equipment, and bike. Cannondale gave her a clean white LAB71 SuperSix EVO with a rainbow-striped top tube. Mags’ new bike matches the elegant jersey that Rapha created to celebrate her world championship win. Mags cannot wait to light up races in her rainbow bands, starting this weekend in Bologna.

“The jersey is awesome,” she said. “My favorite part is the sleeve with the rainbow on the cuff. It is going to be a dream come true to wear. I just saw the bike and I cannot wait to ride it tomorrow. I dreamt of having a custom bike ever since I started cycling and now, with the rainbow bands, it cannot get any better. I feel so lucky."

Mags’ bike is kitted out with Vision Metron 45 RS wheels. Handmade with PRS hubs, aero-bladed carbon spokes, and Vision’s most advanced carbon technology, her wheelset weighs just 1,290 grams, perfect for a climber like Mags. She prefers 30-mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tires for their silky road feel, grip, and ultra-low rolling resistance and rides 165-mm FSA Powerbox K-Force Team Edition cranks paired with 54/38 FSA chainrings and an 11–36 cassette. Mags uses Wahoo SPEEDPLAY AERO pedals for their low cornering clearance and aerodynamic speed.

She will steer her new bike from her System R-One Carbon one-piece cockpit, which Cannondale created in collaboration with motorsports legends MOMODESIGN. A Fizik Vento Argo R1 saddle and Fizik Solocush bar tape complete her build. Wahoo sent her custom rainbow stripe decals for her ELEMNT BOLT 3 to add the finishing touch for the new world champion.

Mags just wants to get racing.

“I am still feeling on a cloud,” she said. “It still feels a bit unreal, but I am really happy, and I think I am going to be happy for a long time. The Giro dell’Emilia is going to be very emotional. I’m really glad that all of the girls are going to be here to share that moment on the start line with me. I think that is when it is finally going to sink in. It still feels a little bit like I might wake up from this dream.”

You made your dream come true, Mags. Enjoy race one in rainbows!
