POC release new EF Pro Cycling limited edition helmet and eyewear

Cytal helmet and Elicit Toric eyewear now available

May 6, 2025

To celebrate EF Pro Cycling women's and men's teams racing the first grand tours of the season, and to meet the demands of a legion of the sport’s biggest fans, POC is thrilled to release the 2025 season EF Pro team editions, which include the brand new Cytal helmet and Elicit Toric eyewear.

The Cytal, released a few weeks ago as a new helmet from POC, will also be available in a special team edition pink, and will be available immediately on POC.com and in selected online and retail stores.

The Elicit Toric, a new style of the famed and incredibly lightweight Elicit, will be available immediately on POC.com and in selected online and retail stores.

Introducing the 2025 limited-edition collection, Lina Elfstrand, Chief Marketing Officer at POC, said, “Over the years we have seen how much the fans of the EF Pro Cycling Women’s and Men’s teams have helped the riders, on good and bad days. And when we speak to the riders we know how much this trust and support means. We are thrilled to be able to release this season’s team collection as we see it as the perfect fusion of trusted support for trusted supporters, and a way the fans can be inspired and pushed by similar levels of performance-pushing protection. Now it’s their turn to break away in pink.”

The EF Pro Cycling team editions

Developed with a focus on extreme levels of ventilation and very low weight, the Cytal brings refined balance with enhanced protection, whilst the Elicit Toric, new sunglasses from POC, blend the incredible low weight of the Elicit with a new shaped Toric lens, tuned for racing.

The helmet and eyewear release and availability coincide with the first grand tours of the women’s and men’s 2025 season, the Vuelta Femenina and the Giro d’Italia.

Jonathan Vaughters, EF Pro Cycling, added, “Our teams are an illustration that you don’t have to follow the same path others have laid out before, instead you can create your own. At EF Pro Cycling we are following our own path and central to that are our fans, who are unique and it always fills me with joy to see them on the roads, loud, pink, and full of support for our riders. And with POC our path is also about sharing what’s special about EF Pro Cycling teams and riders, so we can see more pink out on roads around the globe.”

The design

Pink is known as the color of EF Pro Cycling, of that there is no question, and the 2025 design presents the classic pink color way, and this year the pink Cytal is enhanced with the pink Elicit Toric.

Cytal - overview

Influenced by Cytal Carbon, which is currently used by many EF Pro Cycling riders, the Cytal uses all the pioneering aerodynamic and ventilation knowledge developed from Cytal Carbon and adds a refined balance and enhanced protection. Developed to establish a new benchmark in performance, the Cytal uses an integrated wing to enhance ventilation and aerodynamics. Designed for road and gravel riders, it's a helmet constructed for a precise and unique balance in performance and protection.

Ventilation—The Cytal continues to use the Venturi effect, POC's well-known and respected approach to airflow and ventilation in its helmets. The integrated wing creates superior ventilation and cooling across the whole head. To encourage airflow and create precise pressure zones inside the helmet, the wing has a precise shape that increases air velocity and enhances cooling. Combined with the linear interior channels to guide airflow, vast amounts of air pass through and out of the helmet, all cooling the rider in the process.

Aerodynamics—Ventilation and cooling are essential for modern performance, as is aerodynamics, and the Cytal has benefitted from POC's extensive CFD simulation, wind tunnel, and real-world testing. The integrated wing supports larger frontal ports of precise size and angles. It allows the Cytal frontal air intakes to capture and lead air through the helmet instead of around it, significantly reducing the high-pressure zone at the front of the helmet and improving a rider's aerodynamic profile.

Protection—Safety is the main role of a helmet, and the Cytal has been developed with this as its priority. The EPS liner has variable density across the helmet, which was created by heat map evidence analyzed by POC's in-house tech and research team. It's an approach that leads to a lightweight and naturally balanced helmet. It also supports enhanced protection, and the Cytal has been tested by Virginia Tech and has achieved a five-star rating. (As of March 2025, it is ranked as the number one road helmet and number three in all helmets tested.)

Mips—A seamlessly integrated Mips Air Node system enhances protection from angled (non-linear) impacts.

Fit system—It is essential to be able to fine-tune a fit to meet individual preferences. The Cytal has a variable adjustment system, including removable front brow pads for enhanced ventilation, adjustable straps (up, down, side to side), and a vertical adjustment on the rear cradle.

Eye garage—Eye garage to keep your sunglasses, especially the Elicit Toric, securely in position.

Elicit Toric – EF Pro Cycling Team Edition

Enhancing the performance of our lightweight style the Elicit, the Toric lens is shaped for a closer fit next to a rider’s face for absolute comfort. The frameless design provides a maximized field of view and enhances peripheral vision, which is critical when cycling.

Clarity lens technology controls the color spectrum for ultimate contrast and color management, giving the best assistance to your eyes and ensuring you can see every detail on the road ahead.

The exceptionally lightweight style features bio-grilamid temples with a truss structure for strength and durability.
