Los Angeles native Sean Quinn grew up watching the Tour de France with his mom and dad. Every morning in July, he would wake up early to watch the day’s stage. Soon, he was racing up California climbs and imagining they were the Alps. He progressed through the junior and U23 ranks, shining in stage races and hilly classics.

In 2024, the Californian won the US national championship in a thrilling reduced sprint finale. Months later, he made his Tour de France debut where he was a vital teammate and contributed to the squad’s successful campaign.

A strong climber who can hold his own in the peloton with a fast finishing kick, he got his first pro win in 2023, when he took the prize on stage two of Coppi e Bartali. Sean trains hard, but likes to have fun too. He is a DJ and will always sprint for town signs.

Questions & Answers

If you had to cook dinner for the team, what would be on the menu?

Steak tacos.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home after being away at a race?

Lie down on the couch and take a deep breath lol.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?

The bucket list is infinite but if I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d probably say Patagonia.

Think about your best teammate ever. What was the quality in them that you appreciated?

Best teammates are the ones who you can connect with on a personal level outside of bike racing. I think the quality I appreciate most in any teammate is a good sense of humor, but empathy is also an important trait.

What is your favorite word in your native language? What does it mean? What do you like about it?

Immaculate. Immaculate is supposed to mean perfectly clean and tidy but I grew up just using it as a synonym for perfect or awesome. If you’re hanging out with the lads and the vibes are great, I’d describe that as immaculate.
