Veronica returns for her fourth season of pro racing after taking a hiatus part way through 2024 to focus on her physical and mental health. She’s looking forward to getting to know her new teammates and getting back to racing.

She enjoys mountainous stages and races where she can do what she loves most: climb. She is proud of how far she has come and is determined to keep pushing herself. She sees her development as an on-going process.

Veronica’s competitive streak extends beyond bike racing. She often brings Bananagrams, a fast-paced vocabulary game, to races and camps and will play against any teammate or staff member foolish enough to accept her challenge.

After a long day of training, Veronica loves to pick up some ingredients from the local market, experiment with new recipes, and prepare homemade meals.

Questions & Answers

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Why?

It's between being able to fly – because I mean that would be awesome. You could see the world from above and also feel so free! – but it would be so cool to know every language because then I could communicate with anyone on the planet and I think that would be amazing.

When a race gets tough, what do you think about?

How much I want to prove wrong that negative voice that wants to quit.

If you had to cook dinner for the team, what would be on the menu?

Taco night! Sourdough tortillas, slow cooked shredded beef, homemade guacamole, and salsa.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home after being away at a race?

Make sure my Eight Sleep is on, make a homemade meal (very likely with my air fryer), and starfish on my fluffy floor rug.

What is your favorite climb? What makes it special?

I don’t think I have a favorite one yet. There are too many good ones!
