Bike check: Alison Jackson’s Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO for Paris-Roubaix

Former champ is rocking wider Vittoria Corsa Pro tires on the cobbles

April 11, 2025

Alison Jackson is ready to fly over the cobblestones at Paris-Roubaix this Saturday.

Her Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO was built to float over the roughest, toughest roads in northern France. It’s as sturdy as it is lightweight, nimble, and quick. When it hits the velodrome, it will accelerate with every turn of Alison’s cranks. Alison proved that back in 2023 when she won Roubaix with a tremendous sprint.

She was riding a LAB71 SuperSix EVO that day, as she drove the break over the cobbles to make sure that she stayed ahead. Her approach to riding over the stones is simple.

“The faster, the better,” Alison says. “You want to hit them at full speed. Near the end, after kilometer after kilometer, it’s a rough, shaking-your-bones kind of story, and you get to be like, ‘dang, let me ride anywhere else but here.’ But faster is always better. You don’t want to slow down.”

To go even faster this year at Roubaix, Alison will ride 32-mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tubeless tires with Air-Liners on her Vision Metron 45SLs.

The wider tires provide extra cushioning and traction on the rocky, dusty, muddy roads of Roubaix. With a tubeless set up, Alison will be able to run lower pressures with lower rolling resistance and benefit from the extra puncture protection provided by Muc-Off sealant. In case she does still flat on the cobbles, Alison will run Vittoria Air-Liners in her tires, so she can push on until there is a chance to change her wheel.

Vision’s Metron 45SL carbon wheels are super light, tough, and aerodynamic. Refined in the wind tunnel by Vision’s engineers, they feature the Italian manufacturer’s new PRS hub system, which provides faster engagement and better power transfer thanks to a new 72T Helical Clutch ratchet with five-degree engagement angle.

Alison will navigate Roubaix’s cobbled sectors from her Cannondale SystemBar R-One carbon cockpit. Her bars are wrapped with Fizik tape.

Alison also favors Fizik’s Vento Argo R1 for her saddle. She rides 170mm FSA cranks with 54-40 chainrings and will run an 11-34 cassette for Roubaix.

Her pedals are Wahoo’s SPEEDPLAY Aero, which provide superior cornering clearance and aerodynamics. She will use her new Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM 3 head unit for the race. The computer’s improved high-definition color screen will be easier to see through the muck and dust at Roubaix. If anyone gets in Alison’s way as she charges to the front of the peloton, they might just hear its built-in bell ringing across the cobblestones.
