Bike check: Esteban Chaves's LAB71 SuperSix EVO for the Giro
Check out the full specs for Esteban’s Cannondale race machine
Every day for the next three weeks, Esteban Chaves is going to clip in to his Wahoo SPEEDPLAY AERO pedals and race across Italy.
Esteban is riding a stock Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO this Giro d’Italia. Kitted out with Vision Metron 45 SL wheels and Cannondale x MOMODesign cockpit , Esteban’s race machine is feather-light and aero. It’s built to fly up mountains and blast through the apexes of the tightest corners. With 28-mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tubeless tires, Esteban will grip the racing line at high-speed. His Prologo Scratch M5 saddle will help him sit comfortably for the duration of the three-week tour.
He has paired an 11-34 cassette with 54-40 FSA chainrings, so he can push power smoothly and efficiently across all terrain. Esteban rides 170mm FSA Powerbox K-Force Team Edition cranks, one of the lightest and stiffest cranksets ever manufactured. Left and right Bluetooth connections transmit data directly to his Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT, so Esteban can measure his effort over the distance of the Giro. When he sees his moment, he is going to attack. Esteban already has three Giro d’Italia stage wins to his name and would love to add another one to his tally.
