Gallery: the Giro's third act
Look back at some of our favorite photos from the Giro's third week
The 2023 Giro d’Italia was brutal and beautiful.
That is especially true of its third week. Before this year's Tour of Italy came to a close by Rome’s Colosseum, it took the peloton into the Dolomites. Snow-capped limestone spires formed a natural theater for the race’s final act.
Unfortunately, our Hugh Carthy lost his chance to take part in the GC showdown due to illness and Stefan de Bod had to leave the race due to an infection. Down to four men, our riders never let up and raced each stage with all of the optimism with which they had started the Giro three weeks ago. We are proud of the way that they rode to Rome.
