Tour de France bike check: Ben Healy's yellow Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO
Cannondale shipped Ben a special race bike to celebrate his yellow jersey
July 16, 2025
Ben Healy will start the Tour de France’s 11th stage on a yellow Cannondale Lab71 SuperSix EVO to match his maillot jaune.
Ben took over the Tour’s race leader’s jersey with an outstanding ride on stage 10. As he recovered his strength to defend the jersey in Toulouse, Cannondale rushed a special yellow frame from its European office in the Netherlands to the south of France. Our mechanics went to work early this morning to build Ben’s bike, so he can start his first stage in yellow on a race machine fit for his maillot jaune.
Ben’s Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO is painted maillot jaune yellow to celebrate his race lead. Vision decked out Ben’s Metron 60 RS wheels with yellow decals and Wahoo gave his ELEMNT BOLT 3 head unit a yellow color scheme. His Tour tracker is yellow as well.
"What can I say? I'm just super happy that I've got it. It was a quick turnaround from Cannondale. It is special — full yellow. What more could I want? It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to wear the yellow jersey, so you have got to go all out if you can,” Ben said.
Under the paint, Ben’s bike is the same one with which he won stage 6 of this Tour de France. Ben’s LAB71 SuperSix EVO is Cannondale’s ultimate race bike. Sculpted from uberlight Series 0 carbon fiber, it’s been refined for aerodynamics based on windtunnel data with nimble geometry, so Ben can dive into corners on the limit of what physics allows.
Ben pilots his way off the front of the peloton from his one-piece carbon SystemBar R-One cockpit, which Cannondale co-designed with motorsports icons MOMODesign. His shifters are turned in, so he can tuck in his elbows and crouch his back flat under the wind. Ben decided to stick with classic black Fizik Solocush bar tape, which he prefers for its comfy grip.
For more aero gains, Ben rides Vision’s brand-new Metron 60 RS wheels. Vision’s latest carbon Racing Series rims feature a wider 23mm internal diameter for better aerodynamics and reduced rolling resistance. Hand built with aero bladed DP carbon spokes, they use Vision’s new PRS hub with a 72-tooth Helical Clutch ratchet for faster power engagement under load.
He rides supple, grippy 30-mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tires with Air-Liner inserts, which float over the tarmac at full speed. Muc-Off valves add a special pink touch.
For cranks, he trusts 167.5-mm FSA K-Force Powerbox Team Edition with 54-40 FSA chainrings. Ben rides an 11-34 cassette and Wahoo SPEEDPLAY AERO pedals, which have been engineered with a special dimpled aerodynamic profile to reduce drag. He will navigate the Tour’s race course with a yellow Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT 3.
Wearing the maillot jaune at the Tour de France is a dream come true for Ben. Thanks, Cannondale, for building him a bike fit for the occasion.
