Wrapping up the Giro d’Italia Women
A tough grand tour only strengthens our resolve
July 13, 2025
That’s a wrap on the Giro d’Italia Women.
We came to the Italian grand tour with a young squad, eager to gain experience and looking to learn from challenging race scenarios over the course of eight stages.
What the results sheet doesn’t show is the way each of our riders pushed themselves and supported their teammates. You can’t quantify the laughter around the dinner table, the impromptu dance parties on the bus, and the way each of our athletes committed to turning herself inside out, day after day, whether for herself or for a teammate. There’s a lot of fight in EF Education-Oatly.
Look back on the Italian grand tour with our squad to find out what it was like to race the Giro d’Italia Women.

My Giro experience has been 50/50. Personally, I began quite good. I felt really good and had that fifth place on stage 3. Then the other day I really wanted to do well on, stage 5, we had a bit of bad luck and unfortunately that was nothing more than a top 20 and since then I haven’t been feeling great so just getting through the days but I really have just wanted to be here with the girls and seeing what I could do for them. It didn’t happen in this Giro, but soon, something good is coming.

It’s been really hard and really fast and furious but I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I think I am and that I can do hard things. I can ride up hard mountains even when I don’t want to. But I have lots of great memories from this Giro: trips on the Ferris wheel, meeting little fans, catching ice in my mouth, making new friends in the grupetto, seeing fireworks, and parties with fans on the way down from the mountains. It’s been fun!

Some days were good. Some days were really tough. And the Giro was overall really hard. But for sure this experience will help me for the rest of the season. The next races maybe won’t feel as hard! But just being with the girls is always nice

I learned that plans can change very quickly and that you have to adapt to it and then sometimes races can just become a nice training for whatever is coming up after.
A hard race like this with many days following each other. It just helps you to get stronger and more resistant to fatigue. Every day my legs actually felt quite good and I felt quite fresh and I think for the years to come it’s a good thing to develop. It just helps you to get mentally and physically stronger.
Everyone did a good job adapting to the situation and just taking everyday as a new one. Everyone had a bit of a roller coaster that they went through and nobody gave up. As a team, it’s just nice that we all showed even though things maybe didn’t go as we wanted or as we would have hoped at times, nobody gave up and we all supported each other.
My highlight has been all of the food from our chef and the Haribo at the end of the stages.

It’s been an especially tough edition of the Giro but all the girls have shown their character by pushing through each day after individual setbacks. For me it’s been really promising to witness everyone’s growth even though they might not realize it themselves. They’ve had to really push through some tough situations and for everyone to be able to turn the page each day has been really cool to witness.

This Giro has been full of ups and downs but it’s also been a really good time with the girls. It’s a really good bonding experience, fighting together through the ups and downs and just having a good time on and off the bike. A lot of learning and I’m excited to move forward.
