Team recipe: Oatly Power Shots

EF Pro Biker chef Chris “El Jefe” Woodward’s bad**s(ish) Power Shots

July 9, 2025

Bikers who set out on endless endurance rides—like the Tour de France—might burn nearly 8,000 kcal per day.

Taking it to the limit like that is not the norm, but biker life has never been about following norms. It’s about fuel. A cup of coffee, black as tar and topped with oat drink, can boost a ride or be the excuse to go on one. While drinking an oat drink-based smoothie is a no-brainer both before and after any long ride.

As Oatly VP of Science & Technology Caroline Ofila Jenkins puts it: "A fortified Oatly oat drink is an excellent source of hydration with a good balance of macronutrients, including starchy carbohydrates, fiber, protein, and unsaturated fats. It’s fortified with essential minerals and vitamins like calcium, which is important for muscle activity and energy metabolism and, in synergy with vitamin D, is essential for bone health."

Maybe you’re too tough to give a damn that it’s fortified with essential minerals and vitamins including calcium and vitamin D. But once you get out on the road, you will thank EF Pro Biker’s own chef Chris “El Jefe” Woodward for the bad**s-ish drinks in this series.
