Team recipe: Watermelon-banana smoothie
A refreshing summer treat
If you’ve been out enjoying long summer rides these days like our guys, you may be in need of a cool and refreshing beverage that’s nutrient-dense and easy to prepare.
This recipe is great whether you want to drink it after you wake up for some energy or after a long day out on the trails. Olga recommends having it in the morning as it’s good to start the day off by kickstarting intestinal movement.
“I usually make smoothies for breakfast for the team, as healthy digestion is very important in the beginning of the day,” says Olga. While this team-favorite smoothie is simple and calls for very few ingredients, it’s loaded with nutrients so our riders (and you) can start the day off right.
2 fresh (or frozen) bananas
1 cup almond milk
4 tablespoons chia seeds
1/2 lemon (squeeze out into blender)
Prepare all your ingredients and add them to a blender.
Blend for about 1 minute to mix
Let cool for 30 min in the fridge
