We're going Far Beyond in 2025 with Lachlan Morton
Far Beyond, EF Pro Cycling’s new adventure calendar, will include a dedicated YouTube channel
February 20, 2025
Where are we going?
This year, we’re going beyond the ordinary.
Beyond what we thought was possible. Beyond borders, beyond continents, beyond the familiar.
When you’ve beaten the peloton on the Tour de France route, set FKTs across the world, and are the reigning Unbound champion, what comes next?
You build your version of the most interesting calendar you can imagine. Welcome to Far Beyond.
“Far Beyond is the calendar for this year,” Lachlan Morton said. “The idea was to expand the calendar a little bit and make it more international. It’s going to be a big year in terms of travel and adventure but it should be really fun. With these events, some are new to me, some I’ve done, but it’s as much about being around the experience of the race as it is about competing.”
Far Beyond seeks to venture into the unknown, journeying far beyond established expectations, limitations, and comfort zones. From Colombia to Bhutan, Kenya to Sweden, Lachlan will travel the globe in 2025 in the name of racing but with an eye on adventure and soaking up new experiences.
“The memories and experiences you're left with, more often than not, revolve around what happened around the race rather than during the race,” Lachlan said. “The people you meet or share those experiences with. The places you get to go. That’s what makes it special. Just leaning into that element of it is a big piece of Far Beyond. Giving ourselves time to explore where we’re going. That’s going to be equally as important and exciting.”
Fans can follow all the adventures of Far Beyond in our new, dedicated YouTube channel. With over a dozen films planned across the year, expect to go far beyond just race days. We’ll take you behind the scenes and on the road as Far Beyond explores the far-flung corners of the globe.
And Lachlan won’t be alone in Far Beyond.
“One of the cool things about Far Beyond is that it’s not just me. This year Babette van der Wolf and Alison Jackson will also race at Unbound so it’s exciting to share the experience with them,” he said.
Another participant in Far Beyond will be Lachlan’s dad, who will join him in South Africa to close out the calendar at Gravel Burn.
“Far Beyond allows me to constantly challenge myself, to be uncomfortable,” Lachlan said. “That keeps it exciting. I think it also helps you to grow. It’s nice to see what’s out there. If I finish my racing career and haven't explored everything thoroughly I’d regret it, so I just want to take up this chance. I love the excitement of racing events that are new to me. I love the travel element. I love taking on new things.”
