The 264-kilometer Monument, which crosses the worst cobbles in northern France, is among the hardest sporting events on earth. Jonas has been preparing for it from the moment he started training in November. In 2020, Jonas finished 11th, in the first wet Roubaix in decades. This year, he is committed to going better at Roubaix. 

“When I start training in winter, and it is snowing and cold and wet in Germany, I just think about this race,” Jonas says. “It is what I have been training for all winter long. I just want to do the best possible race.”

Jonas will race his Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO on Sunday. En route to the velodrome in Roubaix, it will be put through the toughest test in professional cycling. Roubaix’s cobbles are brutal. And Cannondale’s ultralight road-racing frameset is ready to absorb every jolt.
