Bike check: Noemi Rüegg’s Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO

Swiss champion will debut her special Helvetic flag bike at Strade Bianche

March 7, 2025

Noemi Rüegg will debut a very special bike at Strade Bianche this Saturday.

Cannondale built the recent Tour Down Under winner a LAB71 SuperSix EVO in Swiss colors to celebrate her national championships victory. White with subtle red Helvetic cross motifs, it matches the Swiss champion jersey that Rapha designed for her. Noemi wants to fly it off the front of the peloton on Tuscany’s white gravel roads this weekend.

“I really, really like my new bike,” Noemi says. “I had an idea in my head, but this tops it. It’s super classy with nice details with the Swiss cross. It really stands out and will mean a lot for me to race it this season. It is a special thing to wear a national champion’s jersey; there's only one of each in the bunch. And now, every time I look down I’m reminded that I am the Swiss champ. That is really special. I will race it with pride at Strade Bianche.”

Noemi is feeling strong after a good rest and then a solid block of training at home in Switzerland following her return from Australia. With her cyclocross skills and uphill punch, Strade is a race that should suit her well. Noemi can’t wait to throw herself into the action.

“I’m bringing a lot of positivity into the race,” she says. “I think we have a strong team. It is a race where you don't really know what to expect. There's so much carnage that can happen. You cannot plan and control everything. You just have to be flexible and go with the race and see how it turns out. We are ready to fight and I think it's going to be a lot of fun on the gravel roads.”

Noemi was impressed by how well her LAB71 SuperSix EVO handled the Strade Bianche. Cannondale’s ultralight, ultra-aero racing machine is ultra-nimble in corners and absorbs jolts from the dirt roads well.

“On the gravel roads, it feels really fast and it gives you a lot of control,” Noemi says. “It is not too stiff, so it reacts quickly if you accelerate or speed out of a corner. You really feel like you are in control of the bike. It’s just fast and aerodynamic.”

For Strade, Noemi won’t change her usual road racing set up much. She will ride wider 30mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tires, inflated to 3.3 bar in the front and 3.5 in the back. For wheels, she opts for Vision Metron 45SLs which balance light weight and stiffness with excellent aerodynamics.

Noemi rides 54-39 FSA chainrings with an 11-36 cassette that will allow her to power up the steep Tuscan climbs efficiently and save her all-out max torque strength to sprint.

She trusts Wahoo SPEEDPLAY’s aero pedals and will navigate the Strade Bianche parcours with her Wahoo ELEMNT Roam.

Watch out for her flying up the Via Santa Caterina to the Piazza del Campo on Saturday in a flash of red and white.

But first, check out the full specs of Noemi’s Swiss champ bike.
