Stefan Bissegger out with a broken wrist
The Swiss will have to miss Flanders and Roubaix
March 29, 2023
Unfortunately, Stefan Bissegger will have to miss his first big goal of the season.
Stefan has had his sights set on Roubaix all winter, but will now have to miss the rest of the classics season, after fracturing his wrist in a crash today in Dwars door Vlaanderen. This injury comes as a huge disappointment for Stefan. He will now go home to Switzerland to recover and give his wrist time to heal.
“Roubaix was a really big goal for this year, so it is a real shame that I cannot race,” Stefan says, “but it is what it is.”
EF Education-EasyPost team doctor David Hulse has recommended a Swiss expert for Stefan.
“Stefan will now return to Switzerland for specialist advice,” Dr. Hulse says.
Stefan is not in too much pain. Looking at the cast on his wrist, he can only shake his head. After some rest at home, he will reset his goals for the rest of the season. But right now, he can’t even get back at his roommate Jonas Rutsch on Playstation.
“No FIFA for a while,” he laughs.
